Heartland Media, LLC, a Nashville-based media company, announces the acquisition of The Middle Tennessee Times, an award-winning weekly newspaper in Smithville, Tennessee. The newspaper was acquired in an asset purchase from Mainstreet Media LLC based in Lebanon. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Heartland Media President Richard Lawson said the acquisition was the first in what will be an ongoing strategy for the company.
