Apple has opened up invitations for an event to be held on October 27th, just as speculations had pointed out earlier in the week.
While previous reports had indicated that a new MacBook Pro 2016 alongside a refreshed MacBook Air 2016, the event invitations don’t go into any details regarding the products that will be unveiled on this date. The event will be available for live streaming on the company’s official website.
“Hello again” is all the event invitation comes with and apparently, it is only exclusive to invites. This event comes more than a year since Apple held a Mac-specific event, which was back in March 2015. During the time, the device that came to life was the 12-inch MacBook, a notebook that featured a high-res display unit as well as being the first from Cupertino to come with a USB Type-C port instead of the usual USB ports.
Given that any small changes and hardware upgrades that the company makes on its products are now announced via press releases, the fact that Apple will be holding a real event means that there is indeed a new product that will be announced. As usual with Apple, it keeps everything regarding its upcoming events close to its chest, however, experts believe that the company could be gearing itself for the first launch of a macOS Sierra powered Mac. This will also be the first iteration to include Siri on Macs, an assistant that has been living on iOS devices.
The last time Apple refreshed the Mac was back in early 2015 and now that it is over a year since then, there is no doubt that this event will bring to life a refreshed MacBook Pro as well as a new MacBook Air. These lineups have suffered from a lack of innovation for years, but Apple is set to breathe some life into them, especially the former, by completely refreshing the design.
Since Cupertino has not mentioned the devices that will be unveiled at its next week event, we can only guess for now. But until then, keep following us and we’ll bring you any updates regarding the event. The presentation will begin at 10AM PT or 1PM ET.
