Cyberpunk 2077 was announced by the developer CD Projekt RED as its role playing game way back in 2012.
However, since a later release of The Witcher 3 and its periodic updates, very little was heard of the Cyberpunk game in the past four years. Yet, from trailers and interview clips that were available during this period, the game shows promises to be much bigger and more exciting than The Witcher 3. Interestingly, the development began even before the Witcher game was launched. At the pre-show event of Golden Joystick Awards, John Mamais, executive producer gave a small talk about the game. According to him, the game will be fantastic and most certainly a “Really Really Really fucking badass” while promising a lot of creativity and spontaneity.
Talks are that the developers indicate a release is slated to take place anytime between 2017 and 2021. Although it is expected that you can hope for a 2018 release, there may be a possibility of the game seeing the light of the day a year earlier in 2017. No mention has been made by them about the list of consoles that will support the game.Nevertheless, there are strong rumors that you can expect that this future CD Projekt will be compatible with only Xbox One. If this proves to be true, then PS4 players are bound to be in for a bit of disappointment. Even though there is very little information about the game, there a lot of anxious fans across the globe eagerly awaiting its release. Planned for an English release, Cyberpunk 2077 will give gamers the option of choosing subtitles in multiple languages including French, German and Polish.
What Cyberpunk 2077 will offer to its players
Given the fact that the game is going to be really big, there is a probability that the game will offer a lot of hours of role playing opportunities for single players. This will be topped up by many multiplayer features. The developer also hints the possibility of a whole lot of tortuous Side Quests being incorporated as a key part of the game. True to its name, Cyberpunk 2077 takes place in the year 2077 in a Night City that was once destroyed and rebuilt. This city is an imaginary city presumed to be situated between Los Angeles and San Francisco. In this period, advanced technologies will prove to be both a blessing and a curse to mankind. The new Cyberpunk game will follow a non-linear story pattern and allow players to visit places featured in the earlier Cyberpunk 2020 game. One such place is a combat zone that was taken over by gangs.
The present day Night City is going to be portrayed as a city that is an energetic city that is always full of life, which in turn makes it a fun place to stopover. The city will be depicted as a planned urban and modern community set in the 21st century with ultra-modern towers and wide streets. It is going to have a population of more than a million people and four and a half million people in its neighboring areas. In the present, the city will have a corporate center that welcomes representatives from over twelve huge corporations. Paying attention to the fundamentals of a dystopian future, Cyberpunk 2077 will depict the happenings in the city after a war that took place slightly over five decades ago in 2023. In the past, the foggy streets of the city were ruled by mobs. They were also always constantly traversed by a group of comedians and punks.
The game will highlight an open-world crime story and primarily make use of a BrainDance. A BrainDance is a neurological instrument that will allow people centered around the Cyberpunk 2077 universe to feel and experience the reminiscences of others with the involvement of all senses.
A combination of two genres likely
There is a very good possibility of Cyberpunk 2077 show characteristics of two other games from the same developer. The game is believed to be a blend of the Witcher and Blade Runner games, resulting in giving quite a few references to movies. There are very good chances of the upcoming role playing video game featuring a lot of shooting as part of the action it offers. Also, given the fact that the Witcher franchise made use of a lot of Easter eggs, it will definitely be no surprise if you find a plethora of these eggs in the Cyberpunk game or at least find the game giving references to them.
Not many details about Cyberpunk 2077 have been made officially available. Leaked rumors point to the fact that the game will showcase a pen and paper combat system. Yet, how this will be implemented continues to be a mystery at this point of time. The developers are also focusing on how to formulate new technology and weapons for the year 2077. From details that are currently available, it sounds as if this is going to be one of the best and biggest offerings from the manufacturer to date.
