Gionee F5 and F106 are the latest smartphones to join the company’s growing F series, but they have only been confirmed for the Chinese market.
The Chinese OEM has finally unveiled the two phones and given that the target is the entry-level market, they come with some really impressive specs yet the price is still very affordable. The Gionee F5 is well ahead of the Gionee F106 in terms of specs as well as pricing.
The Gionee F5 has a 5.3-inch display screen with an HD resolution. Under the hood, you’ll come across an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor that is clocked at a speed of 1.5GHz and is paired with a RAM of 4GB alongside expandable storage of 32GB. The rear panel has a 13MP shooter that is supported by a LED flash while the front comes with an 8MP shooter for selfies.
To ensure that the Gionee F5 delivers the best possible shots, the company has equipped the camera app with a number of nifty features that include Panorama, Night, HDR, slow motion and delay photography, among others. Like other Gionee phones, there is a fingerprint scanner on the front.
The Gionee F5 promises an amazing battery life thanks to the huge 4000mAh battery on board. All these specs are enclosed in a nice metallic body that is just 7.7mm thick and weighs 162g. In terms of pricing, the phone is valued at CNY 1,799, which is about $260. You can have it in Gold or Rose Gold color variants.
On the other hand, the Gionee F106 is a lower-end offering when compared to the Gionee F5. It comes with a smaller 5-inch display screen with the same HD resolution. Under the hood, you get a weaker MediaTek MT6737 processor that is paired with a RAM of 2GB and 16GB of internal storage. The back panel has an 8MP shooter with a LED flash while the front gets a 5MP lens for selfies. Due to its compact nature, the F106 is 8.4mm thick and has a battery unit of 2660mAh.
The Gionee F106 is available in Black and White color variants and is priced at CNY 999, which is about $145.
