Released just over a year ago, the HTC One A9 is entering into that period of time where it needs a lot of discounts in order to keep the sales figures going. HTC has done exactly that by shaving a whopping $200 off the initial price.
The HTC One A9 is now available at $299 without any contracts, although this price will remain in place only for a limited period – until September 18. Even then, it represents an amazing deal for a phone that has a snapdragon 617 processor and display with AMOLED technology.
The HTC One A9 has a full HD display that measures 5 inches in size. Of course, this may not be on par with the latest generation smartphones that have around 5.5 inches of screen real estate along with QHD resolution, but these are not bad specifications by any stretch of the imagination. After all, they provide a whopping 441 PPI which brings the phone closer to the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 or phones that have QHD screens.
Weighing in at just 143 g, the HTC One A9 is extremely lightweight not just on paper but in the flesh too. Part of the reason is the thickness of just 7.3 mm and the metal body which makes it feel premium. Available in two different memory options – 16 GB and 32 GB, the phone has significant difference in terms of performance on both these models. This is because the 16 GB version only has 2 GB of RAM whereas the version with larger capacity has 3 GB of RAM. It makes all the difference even though the processor is the same snapdragon 617 chipset at the heart of the phone.
One of the outstanding aspects of the HTC One A9 is its camera with a 13 megapixel sensor in the rear. Furthermore, this camera also comes with features like optical image stabilization and dual LED flash. Considering the offer price, there are almost zero options when it comes to phones providing optical image stabilization at this price point. The front camera has an extremely capable four megapixel sensor, which makes for great selfies.
The HTC One A9 may cost only $299 in the United States right now, but this offer is applicable only if the phone is purchased from HTC’s official store. The fact that this phone is in the list of devices to receive Android Nougat alone makes it a great deal.
