Huawei Mate 9 Set for UK Launch this Friday 13th

Huawei Mate 9 vs Samsung Galaxy S7

Huawei Mate 9 is already available for those in China and recently to those in the U.S., but the phone will be making its way to the UK towards the end of this week.

On Friday 13th, the Huawei Mate 9 will reportedly start selling in the UK. Whether this also means the rest of Europe or not is still unknown, but at least we know that the country’s carrier known as Three UK will be availing the device for the local market. The communication was not official as the company’s representative gave out this date when responding to a query by a concerned fan of the Huawei Mate 9.

If this is true, it means the Huawei Mate 9 will be in the UK in three days’ time, but as of now, there is still no mention of the exact price that the Chinese OEM will be charging the phone in this region. As for the rest of Europe, the Mate 9 is expected to sell for 699 Euros, which is pricier than what Americans are paying for the same device in the local market – $599.99.

There could be changes to this price tag, though, especially since this was European price tag was mentioned back in November when the phone launched in China. Furthermore, Three UK is also expected to jump in with a number of offers in order to spice up the purchase of this Huawei Mate 9 flagship in the region. Apparently, only Three UK has confirmed the availability of the Mate 9 in the country, but we expect to see more carriers and retailers joining the party sooner than later.

Among the many perks the phone brings around is the support for Amazon’s Alexa, but this is not the only surprise. The phone has several variants including the Mate 9 Pro and Porsche Design Mate 9, but it is only the standard version that has been confirmed for launch in this region. This model has a 5.9-inch Full HD resolution while the under the hood, it carries a Kirin 960 SoC that is paired with a 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage, which can also be expanded via a microSD card.

The back of the phone has a dual-lens camera setup with 20MP+12MP sensors while the front has an 8MP snapper for selfies. There is no need to wait for Android Nougat updates as the device comes preinstalled with this OS, but an update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat should be in the pipes.
