Infiniti is getting ready to give their competitors a run for their money by launching a new range of high performance S models.
The cars are expected to give a huge boost for the brand’s image also pave for luxury models under the Renaultsport and the Nismo brand.
According to latest update, a new Infiniti Q60 is scheduled to get launched before the end of this year. The car powered by a 3.0-liter twin turbo V6 S engine will be capable of delivering up to 400 horsepower. It is the first of many as the company has huge plans to revamp their models and focus more on the higher performance segment so as to reach the elite audience.
“The new Infiniti Q60 is going to feature a small red S logo on it for the first time. It will be the beginning of many more models to come and all the performance vehicles will use the logo henceforth. It signifies what we are up to and showcases our brand motto,” said Roland Krueger, president of Infiniti.
When the Q50 S gets launched, it is going to compete against the BMW M3. The car will make its official launch in the month of August right before the Q60 finds its way to the dealership stores. A moderate facelift is found in the new version of the Q50 S but it makes all the difference. The model will be equipped with a direct adaptive steering system.
Another model which is about to get the S performance badge and related upgrades will be the QX50 SUV. The revamped version of the car borrows a lot of aspects from the concept version showcased this year. At the Beijing motor show, Infiniti launched the QX Sport Inspiration concept car. The large SUV is going to be adapted in the form of the QX50. Instead of trying to push the concept into production, the developers have decided to pick the best from it and implement it in an existing model which is a much easier way to implement technical upgrades.
A silver S Performance pack is in the cards, commented the company’s head. It will allow buyers and existing Infiniti owners to upgrade their cars. By opting for the bundle, they will receive better wheels, improved body and other components which are part of the package. A blue S pack will be available exclusive for the direct response hybrid model. It is going to be the performance hybrid that people are looking for.
