The Mercedes Benz E-Class coupe is already gearing up for a grand launch next year but a test model without camouflage was spotted much to the surprise of many.
The car’s saloon and estate variants are already available while the coupe will be a viable alternative for those looking forward to go for a compact car. The upcoming model is designed from the ground up to compete against the BMW 6 series and will be available in dealership stores in 2017.
Spy shots of the E-class coupe has emerged multiple times online but this is the first glimpse of the car without any camo. The overall shape of the car is very similar to the S-Class and the C-Class coupe. The rear end is quite curvy adding a sense of style to the model while the windscreen is steeply raked and the B-pillars are no longer found in the car. Mercedes is sure to attract customers who are interested in a car with a sleek profile that is equally good in terms of performance.
The automobile brand has confirmed that the new coupe will be constructed on the same platform that is already being used for the saloon. It features a rear wheel drive architecture offering the best in-class interior space combined with a large boot to store all the items without any difficulty. Passenger room, especially for those sitting in the back seat is much appreciated for people who prefers to go for the coupe as their family car.
There aren’t any changes in the powertrain used by the coupe. It still offers both petrol and diesel engine variants with turbocharged solutions to keep fuel efficiency at respectable levels. However, if you are a demanding customer who loves to push the car to experience best performance, the AMG edition of the Mercedes Benz E-class coupe will always be there but it might take some time before it gets launched.
An AMG variant will use a 3.0-liter V6 engine and the company is also considering the possibility of launching a hybrid variant. The interior of the car uses large 12.3-inch displays to allow the passengers to control the infotainment system and know a variety of information. The touch screen displays can be customized to display the information you need. The center console also features a wireless charging pad designed to let the people on board charge their smartphones on the go.
