Lenovo has launched the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force with features that are sure to get these phones noted in the smartphone segment.
However, they are expected to be much more popular if the accessories that they support turn out to be good as promised. Unlike other phones, the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force have the unique ability of supporting modules just like in the case of the LG G5. There are only a handful of phones with this feature.
MotoMods, as they are called, can just be strapped onto the device using a 16 pin magnetic connector at the rear of the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force. While they are solid and quick to attach, they can also be detached with a little force. It makes them extremely convenient in day to day usage unlike the LG G5’s modular models. Lenovo has already come out with a fair number of MotoMods, which have already started receiving a lot of attention.
One of the MotoMods comes with the ability to turn the phone into a mini projector. Even more impressive is the fact that phone can throw up an image which can bring up a 70-inch screen. Admittedly, the resolution may not be great at just 854×480 pixels, but this is a feature like none other. The project has an inbuilt battery of around 1100 mAh. Hence, it may be able to last for around an hour without going for the phone battery reserves. The inbuilt battery coupled with the phone’s battery – in the case of the Moto Z Force – may help the device at as a full projector for almost four hours.
MotoMods also offer the ability to enhance the speaker quality of the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force. The JBL speaker enhancement MotoMod not only offers excellent audio quality, but it also comes with a kickstand to make the device has a perfect multimedia companion. Lenovo also offers a battery module for those interested in just increasing the battery life of the device, which is already excellent in the case of the Moto Z Force. Offering a capacity of 2220 mAh, the battery MotoMod is capable of adding an additional eight hours to the battery life of the phone.
Furthermore, it can be charged by wireless charging. These MotoMods will be available in the United States from the summer.
