The brand Nokia is back to the stores and has a couple of phones scheduled for launch.
The Nokia 6 model is yet to find its way to customers around the globe but the phone has already started receiving the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update.
Much to the surprise of customers, the brand has proved that they are strongly committed to bringing the latest version of the Android to their phones. Motorola has been the only company that brings the fastest operating system updates to their newly launched smartphones. Nokia has probably fast tracked every competitor by bringing a small but important update to their phone even before it has been officially rolled out to buyers worldwide.
The Nokia 6 is now exclusively available for buyers in China and the company behind the brand, HMD has confirmed that they will be launching the smartphone around the globe in the second quarter of 2017. The Nougat 7.1.1 upgrade may sound surprising to some but even before they announced any of their phones, HMD did confirm that they have planned to bring the latest operating system updates as fast as possible. People have heard such statements in the past and companies that just forgot their smartphones, brands that have ditched their devices and focused on newer phones. It is a welcome addition to see a manufacturer deliver what they have promised and this could only increase Nokia’s brand reputation.
Very few buyers actually own the Nokia 6 phone right now. If you are one among them, you can probably check the updates page or wait for the notification to be available on your phone. The size of the file is a considerably 370 megabytes and as with any other operating system patches, the developers would advice you to do it over a WiFi connection with the battery fully charged to avoid any issues in the middle of the process.
The official changelog has already been posted online and according to the same, the phone should offer better power management with increased savings and longer screen on time. The phone will also now support 4G or 3G dual sim dual standby mode. The Nokia USB driver has received a specific update along with the Android 7.1.1 Nougat and includes the security patch that fixes some bugs the team has identified in the recent past. The 7.1.2 is also out for the Pixel devices and may soon make its way to the Nokia 6 phone.
