Nokia fans are likely to be in for a pleasant surprise towards the end of February when the Mobile World Congress is scheduled to take place.
The Finnish manufacturer is expected to showcase a few of its upcoming devices at this event. According to various talks going around, the spin off HMD Global with which Nokia has joined hands will be declaring the arrival of a flagship smartphone that could be called either the Nokia 8 or Nokia P1. It is not clear whether Nokia has any more offerings under its hood that are likely to be revealed. However, one device that may be discussed about is a tablet that has been highlighted on GFXBench with the Nokia brand name.
The GFXBench listing shows some really interesting specifications for the unnamed Nokia slate. Given the fact that the tablet has high end features, it is only quite possible that the device will also be priced accordingly. To get started, the unspecified gadget is shown to come with a really large 18.4-inch Quad HD display. This means that the device will have a really impressive pixel resolution of 2560 x 1440. The pixel density is as of now unknown though it is not likely to be quite disappointing. Another highlight is the deployment of two powerful processors. These are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 central processing unit and the Adreno 540 graphics processing unit. In terms of memory, the unspecified slate has 4GB RAM with an inbuilt storage of 64GB. The possibility of increasing this storage still further is not yet known. The fact that the gadget will have the latest Android 7.0 Nougat run out of the mill is another salient feature worth noting.
The shutterbug specifications are pretty decent too. On the rear, there is a 12MP camera. However, like most present day primary snappers, this one does not support LED flash. While there is no information at the moment about the exact details of the front shooter, the GFXBench listing indicates probability of it being almost at par with its counterpart on the reverse of the slate. The gadget also shows a slew of connectivity and sensor options that include Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, gyroscope, barometer, pedometer, compass and light sensor.
More details about HMD Global’s devices in the future are expected to make news online. This could possibly mean that more features and specifications of the tablet will also be revealed then.
