God of War is one of the early exclusives on the Playstation 2 console which made the platform extremely popular. The title is coming back to PS4 but with a huge change that may or may not be welcomed by hardcore fans.
At the E3 2016 press conference, Sony launched a ten-minute long gameplay trailer showcasing the new Kratos, the world and his fighting skills. It was unlike anything we have seen in the past. The camera angles were complete changed and the world was huge with open environments to explore. Kratos is nearly the same but the story seems to be set in a different period where he is still on the ground fighting monsters with a young boy.
The gameplay trailer was a welcome addition. The show was mostly filled with so many teaser trailers and some great launch videos. However, when you can look into a game in action, it gives a good idea of what to expect when it gets launched. Sony’s God of War is coming back with a bang. The video even showcased Kratos going on a huge boss fight luring a giant in different directions. It might be a completely new experience for long time God of War fans and may take time to get used to.
After the exciting battle, the game moves onto a completely different area where Kratos teaches the young kid to hunt deer. It resembles a lot like the scenes from Assassins Creed III and the critically acclaimed the Last of Us. The storyline and the way of narration might be similar but when it comes to action packed entertainment, we guess it is not easy to beat Kratos in the game.
Most gamers have already started commenting that the new trailer for God of War looks a lot like the Last of Us. However, it is too early to come to such conclusions. The gameplay trailer revealed at the E3 2016 event showed very less and was more of a teaser for the final game. We are yet to know the storyline on which the new PS4 exclusive title is based on.
Sony had plenty of other games to showcase at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. The new Spiderman developed by the people behind Infamous series was one of the best in recent times. If it could finally revive the franchise like Arkham Asylum did for Batman, Spiderman may be the new fan favorite on all platforms.
