Last year, Oppo launched the selfie-centric F1s in India, but there is a new and similarly selfie-centric smartphone that has just been launched in the same region by this self-proclaimed Selfie Expert.
Oppo sees success in the fact that its smartphones come with some of the best selfie cameras in the market. In addition, the tech giant also prices these devices affordably, hence the reason why the OEM has recently toppled Apple from the top spot as the best-selling smartphone company in China for 2016.
A look at the Oppo A57 will tell you that this is another phone from this company. The design is not strange at all, boasting a premium metallic unibody that gives it a high-end feel. You will come across a physical home button that also houses a speedy fingerprint scanner.
What makes the Oppo A57 a major highlight in the Indian market is the presence of a 16MP selfie shooter on the phone. This is not all as the camera also comes with Beautify version 4.0 as well as Bokeh effect. On the back of the A57 is a decent 13MP snapper that comes with support for PDAF as well as a LED flash. In short, this phone is great when it comes to photography.
The Oppo A57 is roomy enough with its 5.2-inch display screen, but it might disappoint a little thanks to its HD resolution. This screen, however, has a 2.5D Glass on top of it, which makes the overall front view of the phone beautiful. Under the hood, the A57 midrange has an octa-core Snapdragon 435 SoC that is paired with a RAM of 3GB. The storage is not bad at all, giving you 32GB with room to expand via a microSD card of up to 256GB.
There is Android 6.0 Marshmallow running the show, but the OS is not stock – there is a ColorOS 3.0 skin on top. There is also no word on if, not when, the Oppo A57 will be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat. To keeps the lights on, the phone has a 2900mAh battery unit.
Fans of the Oppo A57 can grab a copy of this phone starting February 3rd, which is this week Friday, from brick and mortar stores across the country as well as online retailers such as Amazon and Flipkart. The phone will be selling at Rs 14,990, which is about $220.
