While the likes of HTC and LG were pushing the new OS to their devices, others such as Sony were busy tweaking the Android M OS such that it works on their devices just like they want. As a result, none of the company’s newest devices, which include Xperia Z5 series, have yet to receive the new update.

A little while ago, Sony pushed a conceptual build of the new Marshmallow OS. The new build has been on the receiving end as far as updates and new features are concerned. This even led to speculations that the company will soon be availing the new update to those using some of the company’s latest devices. However, this has yet to materialize.

Sony has finally opened its chests, revealing that users of its recently released devices such as the Xperia Z5 range of smartphones, the Xperia Z4 Tablet as well as the Xperia Z3+ will start receiving Android Marshmallow updates as from early March. The Japanese tech giant has further stated on Twitter that the work on Android M update for its range of Xperia devices is still in progress. With this report, it means much better news should be expected in the few coming weeks. This only but confirms prior reports that suggested Sony was planning on releasing the Android Marshmallow update to its Xperia devices on March 7.
