IFA 2016 Gives Birth to a New Lenovo K6 Series – Check it Out

The IFA 2016 event is finally over and Berlin has witnessed the birth of a number of new devices in the smartphone world. One major highlight of the show was the announcement of the new Lenovo K6 series – a series that comes in to succeed the Lenovo K5 series.

The Lenovo K6 series will soon be available for purchase in different parts of the globe. However, be notified that this group of new phones, just like the Lenovo K5, Lenovo K5 Note, and Lenovo K5 Plus, will be coming in to join the mid-range family, which is already full of options from China and other regions.

The company unveiled three Lenovo K6 series handsets and in fact, all of them are based on the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC. However, the differences start creeping in when it comes to display size, RAM and storage matters.

If you opt for the base model Lenovo K6, you will end up with a RAM of 2GB and two storage options of 16GB and 32GB. The middle-of-the-pack version dubbed the Lenovo K6 Power packs a decent 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, but you also get a smaller 2GB RAM and 16GB storage variant of this same phone. As for the high-end Lenovo K6 Note, you get 32GB of onboard storage and two RAM options of 3GB and 4GB. The good side of the story is that the trio comes with support for microSD card expansion.

As for the display, the high-end Lenovo K6 Note packs the largest screen size of 5.5 inches. As for the other two K6 models, you get a 5-inch display panel, but all three have the same Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Camera-wise, the Lenovo K6 and K6 Power share the same specs where you get a 13MP snapper on the back and an 8MP selfie camera. As for the rear of the K6 Note, you get a better 16MP snapper, but the front [art keeps the 8MP sensor. There are also huge differences when it comes to battery capacity where the low-end model packs a 3000mAh unit as opposed to the 4000mAh unit found on the K6 Power and K6 Note. There is also room for unlocking your device via a fingerprint scanner on all three phones.

Despite the fact that Android 7.0 Nougat is out, the new Lenovo K6 series will be powered by Android Marshmallow out of the box, with hopes that they will receive the Nougat flavor in the following months. In terms of pricing, the three phones will cost between $167 and $257.

For those looking out for these phones, be sure to check out the Lenovo K6 in a couple of weeks while the K6 Power should be available starting October. As for the high-end Lenovo K6 Note, the wait will take you up to November.
