Leaked Pictures of Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Show Presence of Curved Display

Just when it seemed that Samsung were the only manufacturer to offer phones with curved displays, Xiaomi look ready to enter into the segment with their Mi Note 2.

The phone has been already spotted in some leaked images, while latest pictures seem to confirm the presence of a curved screen. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the phone is expected to be available in two versions – one with a normal screen and one with a curved display. The regular screen will use 1080p resolution while the curved display is expected to sport QHD resolution according to rumors.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is one of the most anticipated phones from the manufacturer as it tries to revive the falling sales across all ranges. Some of the highlight areas of the phone may be the 5.5-inch screen with OLED technology. At present, there are only a handful of phones with OLED technology and they are yet to go mainstream. The next generation Apple iPhone is set to offer this technology in favor of the current IPS panels. Hence, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 may take a leap forward by offering this technology much earlier than acclaimed manufacturers like Apple.

The all metal body is designed to provide premium into the phone even though Xiaomi are expected to keep the prices of the device low – especially for the version with the regular screen. There was a lot of disappointment when it was revealed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was to come only with 4 GB of RAM rather than the 6 GB heavily rumored before official announcements came through. It remains to be seen if Xiaomi will avoid a similar disappointment. For now, it is rumored to offer 6 GB of RAM especially on the models with 128 GB of storage.

The snapdragon 821 chipset likely to be used on the device can be expected of the highest order when it comes to performance. This combined with the 6 GB of RAM will make the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 one of the best devices to experience multitasking or multiwindow on the new Android Nougat operating system. The rear of the device also appears to show the presence of dual cameras – a feature that is also expected to be offered on the upcoming Apple iPhone 7. Unfortunately, any pricing details of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 are yet to be leaked.
