The all-new Hyundai i30 hatchback has been revealed by the auto manufacturer.
After last month’s teaser, the brand has launched the car detailing its specifications, features and availability dates.
The i30 is what Hyundai plans to name the car in Asia and Europe while the U.S. audience will receive the same model as the Elantra GT. The auto brand witnessed immense success with the brand in different parts of the world with their I series cars. The new i30 is a much improvised version of the outgoing model. The U.S. version is expected to be powered by a 2.0-liter inline four-engine with both manual and automatic transmission gearbox.
The current model available in U.S. as the Elantra GT has a 2.0-liter I-4 engine that delivers 173 horsepower coupled with 154 lb feet of torque. The new Hyundai i30 hatchback shares some design aesthetics with the last generation Elantra GT. It now features a new cascading front grille which is smaller in size and gives a bold outlook to the car.
Peter Schreyer, head of design said that they are planning to install the grille in all future Hyundai models. After undergoing a lot of changes, the latest iteration of the i30 looks mature and has a professional finish that most people would appreciate for a family car. On the inside, the car features a large infotainment system as found in most new vehicles these days.
It sports a spacious touchscreen display which floats above the central air vents, giving it a futuristic look. The steering wheel features a three-spoke designthat promotes better grip over the wheel and minimal corrections to be made when you are driving in the highway.
The infotainment system in the Hyundai i30 car supports both Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Users with any smartphone operating system can share their media and enjoy music in the surround sound speaker system. Safety features integrated in the car include blind spot monitor, forward collision prevention system among all the standard functionalities. More details with regards to the car, trimlines to be made available and pricing will be revealed at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
Hyundai has a couple of other models lined up to be showcased at the auto expo. However, it is expected that they will give top priority to i30 because it is quite popular and has a solid user base both in the U.S. as well as other regions.
