A lot has already been said about the upcoming iPhone 7 and its bigger brother iPhone 7 Plus. But this has been mainly to do with the design similarities between the new models and last year’s iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.
With Apple set to hold an event on September 7th, during which the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are expected to be launched, most of the details about these phones are already known to the world. As noted, expect minor design changes compared to last year’s models. However, you will still come across some additions and subtractions on the phones, including a pressure-sensitive home button, a missing 3.5mm headphone port, and to many people’s delight, Apple has finally made the shift from 16GB to 32GB as the base model.
There have been rumors about Apple ditching the 16GB storage option with the new iPhone 7 and apparently, this has been confirmed in a new leak. The leak shows off a 32GB iPhone, something that will breathe a sigh of relief in many who were looking forward to getting the new phone once it is availed in two weeks’ time.
The news comes from a Twitter user who has been on toes with Apple iPhone leaks and it comes in form of a packaging of the phone’s prototype. This will be the first time Apple does away with the 16GB storage on its premium handsets as the minimum offering, but there is more.
In another separate leak coming in from France, Apple will reportedly be shipping an iPhone 7 Plus model that packs a massive 256GB of onboard storage. This does not come as a surprise since the same Twitter user, who goes by the name The Malignant, had also hinted of the same. In fact, Apple is said to be doubling each of its previous offerings in a move that has seen the base and high-end models supposedly confirmed. If this materializes, the two phones – iPhone 7 and 7 Plus – should also come with a 128GB storage option.
As far as the prices are concerned, Apple iPhone 7 will cost $791, $911 and $1060 for the 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB models, respectively. On the other hand, the larger iPhone 7 Plus will be priced at $911, $1031, and $1180 for the 32GB, 128GB and 256GB models, respectively.
