The recently launched HTC 10 does not seem to have said the sales charts on fire.
In fact, there is a danger of many networks dropping the phone from the contract options due to lack of interest. Since the phone is only a few months old, HTC are planning to come out with a new version of the device but with a different skin and, hopefully, a lower price. Specifications of a device named as the HTC Desire 10 Pro has leaked and the availability of flagship rivalling specifications in the device seem to hint at the HTC 10 replacement.
However, it is also quite possible that the upcoming HTC Desire 10 Pro will continue to be sold alongside the HTC 10. In the recent past, HTC has had a clear demarcation of devices whereby the ‘Desire’ range had the capabilities to top the range but was let down by the use of plastic materials to keep prices low. The exclusive and more premium feel offered by the metal body was reserved for the ‘One’ variants. Even though the HTC Desire 10 Pro seems to have top of the range of specifications, it may be a cheaper alternative to the HTC 10 in 2016.
The phone has almost similar specifications in areas like the display with a 5.1-inch screen supported by QHD resolution. The phone appears to have a snapdragon 820 processor with a clock speed of 2.1 GHz. This should make it extremely fast along with the 4 GB of RAM. One of the theories that this would be the next Nexus smartphone made by HTC can be quickly dispelled by the fact that the HTC Desire 10 Pro only has the android 6.0.1 operating system rather than the recently launched Android Nougat.
Internal storage it seems to be a very healthy 32 GB out of which only 23 GB will be available to the user once android uses up its requirements. The phone will employ a 12-megapixel camera in the rear and a five-megapixel shooter in the front. HTC are also in the process of making smartphones for Google under the Nexus brand. Several leaked specifications of the Nexus Marlin are similar to that of the HTC Desire 10 Pro except in areas like the display size and availability of android 7.0 out of the box. The HTC Desire 10 Pro is expected to be released next month by the Taiwanese giant.
