Verizon has released a new software update for Galaxy A01, Galaxy Tab S5e, Tab S7 5G, Tab S7+ 5G, Galaxy Note 8, Note 9, Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G, and Galaxy S20 FE 5G UW.
The new update for Galaxy A01 and Galaxy Tab S5e brings Android 11, while all other Galaxy devices in this post are receiving a new security patch, except the Galaxy Note 8 which is only receiving performance improvements with the new update.
Samsung Galaxy A01
Samsung Galaxy A01 has finally started receiving Android 11 update from Verizon. The new build comes with Samsung’s One UI 3.0 skin at the top. It brings a host of new features to the device such as chat bubbles, One-time permission, permission auto reset, Quick panel improvements, and AOD customizations. The Android security patch level is also getting upgraded to May 2021, for better system protection from exploits. This is system update number 6 for the Verizon Galaxy A01.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e
Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab S5e back in 2019 with Android 9 Pie. Last year, it received the first major OS upgrade and now receiving Android 11 as the second major OS upgrade for Galaxy Tab S5e. It brings the company’s latest skin One UI 3.1 which adds some cool features on the top of Android 11 core features such as a refreshed UI design, dedicated media player widget in quick settings, and auto-switching for Galaxy Buds. The changelog also mentions the addition of the May 2021 security patch. The new build is rolling out as system update number 11 for Galaxy Tab S5e.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 5G and Galaxy Tab S7+ 5G
Verizon-bound Galaxy Tab S7 5G and Tab S7+ 5G are receiving system update number 6 which mainly brings May 2021 security patch for enhanced system protection. In addition to this, the update for both the devices brings enhancements to Quick Share for an easier file transferring experience.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy Note 9
Galaxy Note 8 and Note 9 are receiving new software update from Verizon. It is rolling out as system update number 36 for Galaxy Note 8 which only brings several performance enhancements. Galaxy Note 9 on the other hand is receiving its 31st system update which brings the latest June 2021 security patch.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G UW
The Galaxy S20 FE 5G UW is receiving its 10th system update from Verizon. The new update bumps Android security patch level to June 2021 for enhanced system protection. This is a minor security patch update and does not bring new features, improvements or UI changes.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G
The last device which we have here in the post is Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G. The device is receiving its 9th system update from Verizon which brings June 2021 security patch. Other than a new security patch, the does not mention any other changes. So, it’s just a minor security patch update.
