The upcoming Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 is code-named “odin”.
Xiaomi is reportedly in the works to launch Mi MIX 4 this year. This could be the second Mi MIX series smartphone this year after Mi MIX Fold, which was launched back in April.
Past leaks have revealed that the Mi MIX 4 will be the company’s first under-display camera phone with flagship-grade camera specifications. A popular Chinese tipster @DCS through a Weibo post revealed that the upcoming Mi MIX 4 is code-named “odin”. The term ‘Odin’ refers to ‘King of Gods’, according to ancient Greek mythology.
The smartphone is said to be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chipset. The display resolution might not excite you, as the Mi MIX 4 will reportedly offer a customized high-resolution screen that will deliver better display effects than the regular 1080p panel, much lower than the 1440p display in the Mi 11 Ultra.
Several leaked images of Mi MIX 4 also surfaced on the internet, which shows uniform bezels around the device giving it a high screen-to-body ratio. It has a curved display at the edges. The phone is said to come with a 4,500mAh capacity battery with support for 120W wired fast charging and 70W fast wireless charging.
In terms of pricing, the Mi MIX 4 will reportedly cost more than the Mi 11 Ultra which currently sells at CNY 5,999 (~US$930). The pricing will jump even more for the markets outside China. Due to high pricing, Xiaomi may limit the production of Mi MIX 4 and market availability, as done with several flagship phones in the past.
Xiaomi is yet to confirm the existence of Mi MIX 4. However, reports believe that the smartphone may arrive in Q3 2021.
