Xiaomi is ready for war and it is adding flair to its tactics with the new high-end Xiaomi Mi Note 2 phablet.
In the newest leak, the Mi Note 2 will reportedly come in with a dual lens camera setup alongside a new curved dual-edge design on both the front and rear ends of the handset. The Chinese tech giant is continuing its fine form that saw the likes of Xiaomi Mi Note Pro and Mi Note come to life, with the former hitting the headlines thanks to the fact that it was actually the first smartphone to come with a Snapdragon 810 SoC and lots of other impressive hardware, alongside the usual impressive design that characterizes Xiaomi phones. In fact, these stylish designs have led to the company being baptized “the Apple of China.”
Now, with the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro over a year old since they arrived, new rumors of a Xiaomi Mi Note 2 have surfaced with image renders of the supposed design of the phone, alongside features such as the camera and USB connectivity. If the leaked images by Android Pure are to be believed, the upcoming Mi Note 2 will pack a curved dual-edge screen as well as a dual-lens camera setup. In addition, Xiaomi will shift to the latest USB Type-C connectivity for faster charging and data transfer. On the opposite end of the USB-C port is a 3.5mm headphone port.
Given that there is no sign of a fingerprint scanner on the rear of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 renders, it is possible that this feature will be integrated into the front-facing home button. As for the rest of the details, expect the screen size to be 5.5 inches, which is, of course, OLED. Under the hood, the Mi Note 2 will reportedly come with the latest Snapdragon 821 SoC alongside a huge RAM of 6GB. While there is no information about what number of megapixels the rear snappers will pack, all we know is that the phone will take the same direction as the Huawei P9 as well as LG G5 – both of which pack a dual-lens camera setup. The upcoming iPhone 7 Plus is also expected to jump onto this bandwagon.
In terms of storage, Xiaomi is not joking around and has packed a huge 128GB onboard storage on the Mi Note 2. This phablet will be joining the likes of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in sporting curved dual-edge display panels, a trend that should start escalating in the coming months.
