Xiaomi seems to be actively working on its Redmi K90 series as a follow-up of the K80 lineup that broke cover last November.
The brand is reportedly working on making a few noteworthy changes in the upcoming series. A leak has just come up in this regard, hinting at the revised display and design.
Expected Display and Design Details
Like any other report by tipster Digital Chat Station, the latest leak has also arrived in the form of a Weibo post. While no specific name has been mentioned, the details presented and the timing of the post make it clear that they relate to the Redmi K90 series.

Going by the post, the series will have a straight LTPS panel with a size of 6.59 inches and a screen resolution of +/-2K. The display will also incorporate new technology and a new substrate that is usually reserved for the brand’s flagship offerings. If this can be believed, the lineup will deliver better detail and sharpness than before because of the high pixel density.
On the design front, the series will offer a wide-screen layout with large-radius corners and slim bezels that contribute to an immersive aesthetic and a more modern appearance.
Partnership with TCL CSOT
Xiaomi is known for its long-term association with TCL CSOT across multiple generations for its displays. For reference, the Xiaomi 15s display uses TCL CSOT’s dual microcavity design and C9 luminescent material that delivers a low power draw and optimized luminous efficiency.

Similarly, the Redmi K80’s AMOLED panel of 6.67 inches in size with a refresh rate of 120 Hz incorporates the M9 luminescent material from TCL CSOT.
While the Redmi K90 series may have a smaller screen than its predecessor, the upcoming lineup is bound to fare better in terms of panel efficiency, pixel sharpness, and next-gen materials.
