A couple of days ago, Rockstar Games finally made an announcement about the PC version of Red Dead Redemption getting launched on October 29. Fans would remember that the game was first released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 way back in 2010. What this means is that the PC version is releasing almost a decade and a half after the game was first launched.

Fans are looking forward to the PC version for all the exciting features it will come equipped with. The PC version will have a native 4K resolution and can run on 144hz on supported hardware. It will offer monitor support for Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9). Players can be assured about getting complete keyboard and mouse support. There will also be upscaling technologies support for Nvidia DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0. Nvidia DLSS Frame Generation will be one of the advanced features. Players would also benefit from shadow quality settings and adjustable draw distances.

This PC version, which fans had been wanting for a long time, has been put together by Double Eleven, which is also responsible for developing the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch ports for Red Dead Redemption. Before the official announcement came through, one had only heard rumors about a PC version of the Red Dead Redemption being in the works. In August, the PlayStation store made a claim about the game now being on PC. Soon enough, dataminers found substantial evidence about a port.

Developed by Rockstar San Diego and published by Rockstar Games, Red Dead Redemption was launched with much fanfare in May 2010. The game, which was set during the American Frontier’s decline in 1911, was designed to be played from a third-person perspective. The game garnered a lot of accolades for skillfully exploring a variety of complex themes including violence cycle, redemption, the American dream and masculinity. The game becomes more and more relevant with time and that’s one of the reasons why one expects the PC version to get a positive response upon its launch.
