Battlefield 6 Open Beta Is Now Confirmed; Gearing up for Launch Soon

A tweet by the official Battlefield account has confirmed the rumors one has been hearing for a while.

For a long time, one has been hearing rumors about an open beta being launched for Battlefield 6. Now, an official post put up on X by Battlefield has confirmed this. For more than 5 months, closed beta tests for Battlefield 6 have been happening.

In the last couple of months, one came across a plethora of rumors pertaining to the next Battlefield title. A while back, a content creator went ahead and leaked a promotional package designed for Battlefield 6. This leak resulted in the name of the next title getting confirmed. As per another rumor, July 29 is when the next Battlefield game will get an official reveal.

A post on X, put up by the team at Battlefield, teased the soon-to-be-launched Battlefield 6 open beta. While no announcement has been made about the sign-up details and the exact date of the event, rumors point towards the open beta for Battlefield 6 getting readied for an August 4 release. Fans have arrived at this conclusion after stumbling upon an API code snippet. This API code snippet was actually unearthed by some Reddit users.

One can get some idea about how the open beta will pan out by glancing through how Electronic Arts has carried out similarly designed events in the recent past. As far as earlier Battlefield games are concerned, one would see open betas lasting from 3 to 10 days. A pre-load option would be provided a day before the launch. The process involving sign-ups would take place a lot earlier.

If we go by the announcement made by the Twitter post, the open beta for Battlefield 6 shall feature both open and closed weapons.

When it comes to the closed weapons playlist, the signature weapons shall be locked to classes. As far as open weapon playlists are concerned, there will be no restriction on any class on weapon usage. In the past, communities have had intense discussions on closed and open weapons.

In the past, EA has acknowledged the fact that there is a huge demand for the class-exclusive weapon system in the game. Despite this, the company has not shied away from experimenting with different weapon systems. Finally, EA is working towards adopting a middle ground by incorporating both the systems simultaneously.
