Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Clears The Air on Split-Screen Support

Call Of Duty Black Ops 7

The game’s beta will be out in early October.

A while back, one came across reports suggesting that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will feature split-screen. While these reports seem to be true, this particular feature will not be a part of the co-op campaign mode. The last game in the series to have a campaign was Black Ops 3, which came out in 2015. Since then, most games in the franchise have had single-player campaigns. There was also Black Ops 4, which did not have a campaign.

Most of the marketing activities carried out for Call of Duty: Black Ops7 so far have revolved around its campaign. One saw the campaign getting a lot of space in the reveal trailers.

Apart from confirming that the game will mark the comeback of several fan-favorite characters, it also stated that it happens to be a direct sequel to Black Ops 2. The 4-player co-op campaign will be a part of Black Ops 7’s campaign. However, the mode will not support split-screen.

To put it in simple words, one would play the Black Ops7 campaign either solo or online. Since the Black Ops 3 campaign featured split-screen co-op, this particular development would come across as a disappointment to many. One should, however, seek solace in the fact that the new game is not letting go of this feature completely.

When one visit the official support page for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, one realizes that the game will have split-screen in some form. Black Ops 6 had split-screen for both its multiplayer and Zombies mode. One could, therefore, expect something similar to be done with Black Ops 7. While the co-op campaign of Black Ops 7 will not have split-screen, one can expect to see some local co-op action in the other modes of the game.

The game’s beta can be accessed on October 2 by those who pre-order the game or have subscribed to PC Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The beta will, however, be accessible to everyone from October 5 to 8.
