There is a good possibility of a shadow drop for the Oblivion remake happening during the Summer Game Fest. Shadow drops, as the gaming community is aware, are a rare occurrence. However, the Oblivion remake could have this privilege owing to its reputation and the fact that the original game has achieved a cult status over the years.

An official announcement for The Elder Scrolls 6 came through way back in 2018. For a long time, fans had been waiting to get some important updates on the game. With the Summer Game Fest scheduled for June 6, fans are hopeful about getting some updates about the game. If an official reveal of The Elder Scrolls 6 happens along with the Oblivion remake getting shadow-dropped, it will be a double bonanza for fans.

Till now, Bethesda or Virtuos Games has not made any official announcement about the The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion remake. After being launched in the early months of 2005, the Oblivion remake struck a chord with gamers instantly and managed to get a large section of gamers in its fold. Given the kind of popularity the game enjoys and the loyal fan base it has, its remake would benefit hugely by opting for a shadow drop.

Though nothing has been confirmed yet, reports suggest that Virtuos Games has been working on the development process of the Oblivion remake for quite some time. This, one must remember, is the same studio that is aiding the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3. The studio is also credited with developing a bunch of ports for AAA titles.
