Final Fantasy 14: Developer Talks About Potential Monster Hunter Wilds Collaboration

 The development team at Final Fantasy 14 seems to be keen on collaborating with Monster Hunter Wilds for a crossover.

Masaki Nakagawa, who serves as the lead battle content designer for Final Fantasy 14, recently spoke about the potential for a Monster Hunter Wilds Collaboration. In the past, one had witnessed a collaboration taking place between FF 14 and Monster Hunter Wilds which has left the fans feeling extremely happy. That collaboration led to fans hoping that the developers would join hands with Capcom again to roll out some fresh content.

In the year 2018, Square Enix and Capcom made an official announcement about a crossover taking place between FF14 and Monster Hunter World and launched it as well.

In a special quest, the players came together to put up a fight against Final Fantasy’s Behemoth. Completing these quests would lead the players towards unlocking rewards such as the Dragon armor in Monster Hunter World and a Palico minion in Final Fantasy 14. At that time, fans reacted very positively to this content and wished for another Monster Hunter collaboration to take place in the near future. In 2021, fans were hoping for a collaboration to take place between Monster Hunter Rise and Final Fantasy14. However, that did not happen.

Recently, while giving an interview to a gaming publication, Masaki Nakagawa stated that FF 14 developers happen to be fans of the Monster Hunter series and they would, given the opportunity, be elated to work on a Monster Hunter Wilds crossover.

Nakagawa further stated that the game designer, who earlier worked on the battle content for the Monster Hunter World collaboration, has some interesting ideas on how another collaboration could take place.

Nakagawa further stated that the development team of FF XIV has the potential to design a Monster Hunter Wilds collaboration that would meet expectations. While a new collaboration was never confirmed, Final Fantasy 14 players have the opportunity to access the Monster Hunter World content with a character who has the distinction of completing the Stormblood main scenario quest and reaching level 70.
