Galaxy S25 Series: Which Processor – Qualcomm Snapdragon or Exynos?

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup has gained traction as its release is slated to take place around the corner.

While there have been various reports about the series in the past, one question that has been a key topic of discussion is the choice of processor in the Galaxy S25 series.

A Combination of Both Processors

The very first reports indicated that the entire series would be equipped with the manufacturer’s Exynos 2500 processor. However, later reports cited a delay in the manufacture of the processor resulting in the lineup incorporating a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.

A recent Geekbench listing for the Galaxy S25 Plus shows the smartphone for the European market with an Exynos 2500 processor. This hints that the manufacturer will opt for the same strategy that it followed for the Galaxy S24 lineup in the upcoming series as well. To recall, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ models outside China, the US, and Canada were powered by the Exynos 2400 processor while those in other markets came with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor under the hood.

Going by this trend, it can be expected that at least the Galaxy S25+ in Europe will house an Exynos 2500 processor whereas in the US, the handset will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It is also unclear at this time which countries will offer the Galaxy S25 and S25+ with the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.

The only news that has been consistent to date about the processor is that the top-end variant, Galaxy S25 Ultra will be available with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset in all markets where the smartphone will be available.

MediaTek Dimensity Processor Not Likely

As the Exynos vs Qualcomm discussions have garnered attention, there are no statements to substantiate that a MediaTek Dimensity processor would be an option. However, if Samsung opts for a Fan Edition model at a later date, the handset can be expected to house a processor from MediaTek.
