The Galaxy S26 and S26+ are two upcoming flagships in the brand’s next Galaxy S series.

The rumor mill has churned out some details about different smartphones in the recent past. A new leak has now emerged, hinting at the processor in the standard and Plus variants. In the last decade, the manufacturer has opted for a dual choice for the processor in its handsets. While the smartphones feature a Snapdragon processor in some regions, they have an in-house Exynos chipset in other regions.

Exynos 2600 Processor

The most recent leak from the home country reveals that the Galaxy S26 and S26+ will house the manufacturer’s in-house Exynos 2600 chip in some countries.

In other nations like South Korea, China, Japan, and North America, the handsets will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor from Qualcomm.

The global variant of the S26 Ultra will also house this chip.

The Exynos 2600 processor will be fabricated by Samsung Foundry and designed by the brand’s System LSI division as a 2nm processor. The chip is likely to have an integrated AMD RDNA4-based GPU.

Samsung is slated to commence the mass production of its Exynos 2600 chip in the latter half of 2025. If this is true, the brand could win the race and be ahead of Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Apple in introducing a 2 nm chip. These three manufacturers are likely to launch their 2 nm chips only in the second half of 2026.

The Exynos 2600 processor will contend with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 processor from Qualcomm and the Dimensity 9500 processor from MediaTek.

These two processors will be built on TSMC’s 3 nm process and see the light of day in September or before the end of the year.

Interestingly, an earlier report cited that Samsung would ditch the S26+ in favor of the S26 Edge due to lower sales of the former handset.
