The Galaxy S26 series will include at least three flagships comprising the Galaxy S26, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra.

A new report has now emerged that confirms what an earlier leak stated about the smartphones in the series.

According to the leak, Samsung will do away with the Plus variant as it is touted to be the least selling handset in the series. For reference, the Galaxy S25 Plus recorded only 22% pre-orders in the home country while the base and Ultra variants recorded 52% and 26% pre-orders, respectively. The Galaxy S26 Edge is touted to take the place of the S26 Plus in the upcoming series.

Interestingly, this is the same concept that the brand’s competitor Apple has implemented in its iPhone 17 lineup. The lineup that will launch in September this year will not have a Plus model. The iPhone 17 Plus will be replaced by a thinner iPhone 17 Air.

Expected Galaxy S26 Edge Specs

Going by past leaks, the Galaxy S26 Edge will have a display size of 6.7 inches for its display. The smartphone will support two options for the chipset. These are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 and the brand’s Exynos 2600 processor. While the handset will launch with the Qualcomm processor in some regions, it will house the Exynos processor under its hood in other areas. It will sport a slim design.

The manufacturer is reported to have already told its suppliers to be ready for the mass production of the S26 Edge. While Samsung appears to have internally confirmed removing the Plus variant from its upcoming lineup, it has yet to make an official statement regarding this to the public.

The Galaxy S26 lineup is anticipated to break cover in January 2026 when Samsung hosts its next January Unpacked Event.
