Galaxy S26 Ultra Tipped to Come with a More Efficient and Thinner Display

We have seen the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra make its way to the news regularly.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra smartphone has now once again hit the headlines with some details about its display. According to the leak by noteworthy tipster Ice Universe on Weibo, the handset is likely to get some significant display upgrades. This display could also aid in enhancing the efficiency of the handset.

Display Specs

The smartphone is tipped to Color Filter of Encapsulation OLED panel that contributes to the upgrade. Instead of opting for the standard pixel definition layer (PDL) and typical polarizer, the CoE OLED display technology will make use of a black PDL and a color filter.

This new technology will deliver a higher peak brightness and also make the screen more power efficient. It also means that the display will have enhanced light transmittance and be thinner than before. There will also be an anti-reflective coating over the display.

Other Details

Earlier reports claim that the S26 Ultra will have a 5,000 mAh battery with a longer life. The smartphone will be slimmer than before. It will house a 1-inch 200 MP main camera sensor. There will also be a telephoto camera with OIS and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera with OIS, 8x zoom, and autofocus.

The handset will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor and 16 GB of RAM. The handset will run on Android 15 topped with One UI 8 and feature multiple Galaxy AI enhancements.

The brand usually launches the Galaxy S series in January every year. If it follows the same trend, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will break cover with the rest of the smartphones in the series in January 2026.
