The Google Pixel 10 will arrive as the vanilla model in the Pixel 10 lineup without considering the Pixel 9a.

Various details have emerged in the past about the specifications and details of the different phones in the series. One such leak indicates that the Google Pixel 10 will be powered by the manufacturer’s own Tensor G5 processor. The Tensor G5 chipset has now been spotted on the Geekbench database.

The Geekbench database listing does not mention the name of the smartphone with the chipset. However, it mentions the codename Frankel associated with the Pixel 10. The processor has recorded a single-core score of 1323 and a multi-core score of 4004. The low scores compared to the predecessor Tensor G4 may be attributed to the fact that this is the initial version of the G5.

The listing also mentions that the Tensor G5 is an eight-core processor with one primary core clocking at 3.4 GHz, five cores clocking at 2.86 GHz, and two efficiency cores clocking at 2.44 GHz. It also highlights that the handset will have 12 GB RAM as memory and operate on Android 15.

Tensor G5 Details

Earlier leaks reveal that the chipset will rely on the 3nm architecture by TSMC and is an Alpha version. This could mean that the manufacturer will do away with a processor from Samsung.

The processor will be integrated with a new DXT-48-1536 GPU from Imagination Technologies. This GPU will incorporate GPU Virtualization and a gaming feature called Ray Tracing that is found in many high-end chipsets from various manufacturers.

The enhancements introduced by Google undoubtedly give the Tensor G5 a performance boost. However, it’s capabilities are still limited and the processor is way behind other leading chipsets like the Snapdragon 8 Elite and A18 Pro from Qualcomm and Apple respectively.
