Google is actively working on the Pixel 10 series that will include the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

According to new leaks, the lineup will take close-up photography to a new level. The base model, Google Pixel 10, will support a new photography mode for more detailed and sharper shots. This mode will offer a game-changing experience for those who enjoy capturing tiny objects, textures, and/or flowers using the cameras of their smartphones.

Tele-Macro Mode

According to an Android Headlines report, the base model Pixel 10 will house a new lens with 5x zoom for the first time. This lens was earlier reserved only for the Pro models. It will act as either an ultrawide lens or a telephoto lens based on the proximity to the object.

If the object is at a distance, the lens will function as a telephoto camera. On the other hand, if the object is too close to be supported by the minimum focusing distance of the telephoto snapper, the lens will automatically function as an ultra-wide lens.

The lens will incorporate a tele-macro mode to capture close-up shots with lesser distortion, better clarity, and smoother background blur than the ultra-wide macro shots delivered by the brand’s earlier Pixel offerings.

While this is the first time Google will opt for dual-lens macrophotography, the concept by itself is not new. Other brands like Vivo and OnePlus have already opted for this feature in their smartphones. Interestingly, this is a feature that has been requested by the brand’s fans for quite some time now.

The Pixel 10 is anticipated to house the manufacturer’s most recent Tensor G5 chipset under its hood. Like the other handsets in the series, the base model will also run on Android 16.

The Google Pixel 10 is slated to break cover along with the other smartphones in the lineup on the 20th of August this year.
