Google is working on its upcoming Pixel 10 series that includes the Pixel 9a along with the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
There has been some news in the past about the lineup indicating their codenames along with some leaked images. A new leak has now been published on Android Headlines by renowned tipster On Leaks sharing some new images of the Google Pixel 9a smartphone. These images show some striking differences in design that the smartphone is likely to feature in contrast to its predecessors like the Pixel 8a.
Flatter Design and Recessed Camera Island
A noteworthy change is the smartphone has a flatter design than before. This applies to the edges of the handset as well. The front panel also appears to be big while the bezels are also bigger and thicker on the front.
Going by the fresh set of images, the camera island on the back panel appears depressed and flat as against the protruding bump that the manufacturer has been offering all along in its Pixel handsets. However, the two lenses in an elongated pill-shaped camera housing and the flashlight module remain the same.

The thick bezels and recessed camera island may be a part of the manufacturer’s strategy to differentiate its ‘a’ series from the other smartphones in the lineup.
While there is nothing on the left side of the Pixel 9a, the power button and volume rockers will be located on the right. The SIM slot, speaker slit, and USB Type C port are at the bottom while there is a punch hole on the front. Additionally, the handset appears to have a reflective back panel.
Pixel 9a Processor and Operating System
It is anticipated that the smartphone will house the Tenor G4 processor from Samsung like the earlier Pixel 9 smartphones. There are talks that this will be the last Pixel smartphone to be equipped with this processor. The processor will have eight cores comprising one Cortex X4 core clocking at 3.1 GHz, four Cortex A520 cores clocking at 1.92 GHz, and three Cortex A720 cores clocking at 2.6 GHz.
