There have been various reports about the Google Pixel 9a in the past covering the price details and a few specifications.
A new leak has now surfaced tipping the release and preorder dates of the midrange smartphone. If the details are anything to go by, the handset could see the light of day earlier than expected.
Release and Preorder Dates Advanced by a Few Months
Google is known to host its annual I/O event in May every year. It was anticipated that the manufacturer would use this occasion to reveal the Pixel 9a just like it did for the Pixel 8a predecessor. However, a recent source now says the release and preorder will take place in March.

The Android Headlines report claims that the brand will open the preorder window for the Google Pixel 9a on the 19th of March this year. The launch will take place a week later on March 26 and the smartphone will hit the shelves of retailers the same day.
Expected Google Pixel 9a Specifications
The Pixel 9a will have an OLED 6.285-inch panel with a FHD+ resolution; 1,800 nits HDR brightness; and 2,700 nits peak brightness. The handset will also have an in-screen fingerprint sensor and may also have Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection for its display like the Pixel 8a.
The smartphone will be powered by an upgraded Tensor G4 chipset under its hood. This will be complemented by UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5x storage.
There will be two cameras on the back of the handset comprising a GN8 48 MP primary snapper as well as a 13 MP Sony IMX712 ultra-wide snapper. There will be an IMX712 front-facing camera with a resolution of 13 MP on the front.

The smartphone will house a huge 5,100 mAh battery with support for 7.5 W wireless charging and 23 W wired charging. This battery size is much bigger than that of the Pixel 8a.
Other highlights of the Pixel 9a are an IP 68-rated chassis and a Titan M2 security chip.
The 128 GB variant of the Google Pixel 9a will have a starting price of $499 in the US while the 256 GB variant will come with a price tag of $599.
