In less than 365 days, Grand Theft Auto 6 fans will get to witness the launch of the much-awaited game!
Earlier this month, Rockstar Games made an announcement confirming that Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed. 26 May, 2026, was declared as the new launch date for the game. Through a blog post, the gaming studio apologized to fans for the delay.
While fans were disappointed at the long-in-the-making game getting delayed further, they appreciated the fact that Rockstar confirmed this development from its end. In the last few years, fans were mostly dependent on leakers and insiders for any news pertaining to GTA 6.

With Rockstar mostly remaining tight-lipped about the game, this was the only option they were left with. To give credit where it is due, Rockstar has been sharing updates about the game more frequently than ever. This, of course, has come as a relief to Grand Theft Auto 6 fans who had been waiting for this game for years.
Fans have been getting anxious over the launch of GTA 6 for some time. A couple of months ago, Rockstar confirmed that GTA 6 will be launched in the fall of 2025. Even when this confirmation came through, a lot of Grand Theft Auto 6 fans remained skeptical and felt the game could be delayed further. Their fears turned out to be true when Rockstar confirmed the game would be delayed to 2026. While some fans feel the game could be delayed further, most fans are now certain about the game arriving on 26 May, 2026.
If one takes the release confirmed by Rockstar into account, the launch of GTA 6 is less than a year away. On online communities, GTA fans have already begun the countdown for the game’s release.
