By downloading files in advance, players will get to enjoy the new content as soon as the update is out!
For the upcoming GTA 5 Online Enhanced Update, Rockstar Games has made the pre-load option available. The update is scheduled to be launched on March 4. This particular step taken by Rockstar has given select PC players to download game files in advance. When the update releases, they can get their hands on new content immediately. All the players who were getting anxious waiting for this update are expected to avail of this opportunity.
At the moment, players who have bought the game through Rockstar Games Launcher have the opportunity to pre-load the update. This option has not been extended to other platforms till now. One must, however, mention here that Steam users have begun receiving access to pre-loading.

The file size of GTA 5 Online March update is 91.53 GB. Rockstar has already urged players to get their system specifications verified before downloading to make sure there are no issues with compatibility. On February 20, 2025, the gaming studio shared all the details regarding the minimum and recommended PC requirements for running the Enhanced version.
To run the Enhanced version, one needs to be using the latest service pack of Windows 10. The processor should be AMD FX-9590 or Intel Corei7 – 4470. As far as graphics are concerned, one should be using the AMD Radeon RX 6400 (4GB VRAM) or the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1630 (4GB VRAM). Memory less than 8GB RAM will not work. The sound card should be DirectX 10 compatible. A minimum storage of 105GB SSD is required.
Once the Enhanced update is out, players should look forward to trying out a plethora of new features on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Some of the new additions that should make the players happy are the HSW vehicles, HSW upgrades, HSW Time-Trials, HSW Premium Test Ride, ray-traced lighting and reflections, career builder and career progress.
Once these upgrades come through, the PC version of the game will be on par with the latest console versions. Players shall have the opportunity to play GTA 5 Online at the same level as next-gen console users.

The new update will also provide PC players access to GTA Plus membership. Once they sign up for the membership, they will have the chance to win monthly in-game rewards.
It is important to note here that the pre-load option paves the way for early file downloads but one would be able to access new content only on the official release date. Therefore, to check out all that the enhanced version of Los Santos has to offer, players will have to wait till March 4.
