Contrary to what a certain section of fans has been believing, the game’s release should not suffer from any delay.
In the recent past, there has been a lot of discussion around the release date of GTA 6. While Rockstar Games has not revealed the GTA 6 release date yet, the studio did confirm that the game will release sometime in the fall of 2025.
When the first trailer of GTA 6 dropped in 2023, it took the entire gaming community by storm. While fans loved the trailer, they also started wondering when Rockstar would roll out the second trailer for the game.

Rockstar has neither released a second trailer nor has it shared any important update about the game. All this has led to speculations around the release date of the game. Some fans have been of the opinion that since GTA 6 is mounted on a huge scale, it could go through certain delays.
Recently, the release date of Mafia: The Old Country, a game produced by Take-Two Interactive’s subsidiary company 2K, was leaked on Steam accidentally. The team, as per reports, had planned to unveil the release date at the PAX East event scheduled for the month of May. Now, thanks to the leak, we know that the game will be launched on 8 August.
Apart from Mafia: The Old Country, Borderlands 4 and NBA 2K26 are two major games that Take-Two plans to release this year. While 23 September has been confirmed as the release date for Borderlands 4, NBA 2K26 should get a launch in the early days of the same month.

Since the studio does not have any releases planned out in the months of October and November, one should expect to see GTA 6 launching around this time. These months have proved to be auspicious for major titles.
So, there is a very strong chance of GTA 6 release date set during this period in 2025. Keeping all these developments in mind, one feels Rockstar will stick to its commitment of launching GTA 6 in the fall of 2025.
