As per reports that have come to the fore recently, GTA 6 could exert a lot of pressure on the CPU while running.
Gamers across the world are looking forward to the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6. While Rockstar Games has not specified a proper release date for the game, the gaming studio has confirmed that the game will be out in Fall 2025. Keeping this in mind, one can state that GTA fans will have to wait for just a few more months to try out the game. While one had started seeing reports on GTA 6 years back, Rockstar officially confirmed in February 2022 that it is working on the development process of the next iteration in the GTA franchise.

There have been a lot of speculations and discussions on how compatible GTA 6 will be on new-gen consoles. Sony recently unveiled the PlayStation 5 Pro, which happens to be its latest gaming console. A large section of GTA fans is now wondering whether they will be able to run GTA 6 on PlayStation 5 Pro when the game launches. A lot of these fans will take the plunge and buy the PS5 Pro only when they are sure about the fact that the game will be compatible with the console.
Richard Leadbetter, who serves as the tech editor at Digital Foundry, has recently spoken on this subject. While giving an interview to IGN, Leadbetter was posed with an important question. He was asked if GTA 6 would run at 60 frames-per-second on the PlayStation 5 Pro. Leadbetter replied to the question negatively and stated that every GTA game till now has been released on their target platforms at 30fps. Some of the games have been released at a lower fps.
Elaborating further on this, Leadbetter stated that the PS5 Pro uses the same CPU that the PS5 does. If the base PS5 version has a target of 30fps, it would be extremely difficult for the PS5 Pro to reach 60fps.
During the interview, the editor also claimed that they have some evidence that gives them the impression that the first trailer of GTA 6 was running on either Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5. If this is true, this is positive news for those who have massive expectations from the graphical performance of GTA 6.

As per reports, the process of running GTA 6 on the CPU would be quite taxing as it would be required to render environments and situations full of complexities like pedestrian simulation, heavy road traffic and the behavior of NPCs. Getting the frame rates boosted up would be quite a task for the console it is run on. Once the game comes out, it would be interesting to see how well it performs on different consoles.
