GTA 6: Expert Says Rockstar Games Could Face Challenges While Releasing The Game

GTA 6

Industry analyst Emmanuel Rosier has stated that GTA 6 would be a success only if Rockstar’s development team is in sync with today’s gaming sensibilities.

A while back, Rockstar Games made a formal announcement about Grand Theft Auto 6 releasing in the fall of 2025. While the gaming studio has not shared a definite release date for the game, fans are quite excited about it releasing this year. GTA 6 was already in the news for a long time before Rockstar confirmed it was working on the next iteration in the GTA series in early 2022.

Once the confirmation came through, the excitement around the game doubled up. Though Rockstar referred to the game as the “sixth iteration in the GTA franchise” and did not attribute a title to it for the longest time, fans knew it would be released as GTA6.

Now, that Grand Theft Auto 6 is all set to release this year, fans are constantly having discussions on all that the game could offer. While several major games are slated to release this year, none of them carries the kind of buzz GTA 6 does. In fact, no other gaming title released in the last few years can boast of carrying the kind of anticipation that GTA 6 is riding along.

Given the kind of time, money and effort Rockstar has spent on Grand Theft Auto 6, fans expect a smooth release for it. However, if recent reports are anything to go by, one could see some issues in GTA 6 when it finally hits the market.

Emmanuel Rosier, a leading gaming industry analyst, spoke about GTA 6 while giving an interview to GI.biz. While the analyst acknowledged the fact that Rockstar is credited with several titles that have set new industry standards, it will face certain challenges while trying to move through a space that is driven by major live-service titles.

Rosier further stated that GTA 6’s success greatly depends on how Rockstar has used the GTA formula this time around to navigate its way through a dynamic gaming landscape that is constantly evolving. When Grand Theft Auto 6 releases, the gaming community will not only compare with older GTA titles but also draw parallels with successful games released in the recent past.

The last GTA title was launched way back in 2013. In these ten years, the gaming industry has witnessed several major changes. Rockstar would, therefore, be expected to create a game that has elements gamers identify with GTA games and is also in sync with the needs, demands and sensibilities of new-gen gamers. There is also the pressure of sales. GTA 5 has emerged as one of the most successful gaming titles of all time and fans expect GTA 6 to go a few notches higher.
