GTA 6

The studio seems to be serious about providing fans with aquatic experiences they would cherish!

A while back, Rockstar Games confirmed that GTA 6 has been pushed to next year and will now be launched on 26 May 2026. While fans are happy about GTA 6 getting a definite release date, they want Rockstar to keep sharing updates about the game. Though the studio cannot be expected to share important updates at regular intervals, the leaks keep coming in. A new GTA 6 leak sheds light on the water budget set aside by Rockstar for the game.

Though one does not know of a definite figure, one knows for a fact that Rockstar has spent billions of dollars into the development process of Rockstar so far. Fans have been interested to know about the kind of money that has been pumped into different departments.

From peaceful cruises to adventure-filled boat chases, one has seen water play a very important role in GTA 6. The water-based activities in the game have always received a very positive response from fans. It is, therefore, quite natural for Rockstar to add more of such activities in the game. The inclusion of a higher number of water-based interactions and making an effort to make the physics in the game a little more realistic should go a long way in attracting newer players for the game.

As per a tweet posted by the official X account of VGT Gaming News, the leak suggests that GTA 6 will have the most realistic water physics that one has witnessed in a video game. In order to accomplish this objective, Rockstar has reportedly assembled 20 engineers who will work exclusively on water physics modeling.

Rockstar has reportedly worked out a budget ranging between $200 and $300 million to get this done. To put things into perspective, the total developmental cost of GTA 5 was $265 million. The amount of money being spent on water physics in GTA 6, therefore, equals the entire developmental cost of GTA 5.

As per reports, GTA 6 is all set to feature a variety of water-based events, including surfing, floods and hurricanes. The in-game weather should complement these visuals very well. These activities should also contribute to heightening the sense of adventure in the game. Once GTA 6 releases next year, one would get a proper idea of how well this investment turned out to be.
