As per recent reports, Rockstar Games has pumped in $1-2 billion on developing GTA 6!
Ever since Rockstar Games made a formal announcement about the next iteration of GTA being in the works, fans have been constantly discussing different aspects of it in online communities. While many factors, including the characters and locations in the game, have been widely discussed, GTA 6 price has been one of the most discussed topics for months.
For a while, one has been coming across reports discussing the high developmental cost of GTA 6 and how it might end up becoming one of the most expensive gaming titles of all time. Given the fact that GTA 6 will be a part of one of the most successful gaming franchises of all time, fans were not surprised to see these reports.

Based on the information that has come to the fore recently, many fans now believe that GTA 6 will be the most expensive game of all time. A couple of days ago, Strauss Zelnick, who serves as the CEO of Rockstar Games, stated that GTA 6 will be “extraordinary” and shall live up to the hype and expectations fans have from it.

Rumors, which one has come across recently, suggest that Rockstar Games is spending somewhere between $1 and $2 billion on developing GTA 6. If there is any truth to these rumors, GTA 6 will, indeed, emerge as the most expensive gaming title of all time.

Last year, there was a lot of discussion on the GTA 6 price owing to several experts chipping in with their thoughts and opinions. INTEL, a popular YouTuber who makes videos on GTA, claimed the development cost of GTA 6 would be around $250 million. If one takes the marketing cost and other expenses into account, it would be safe to assume that the overall cost of the game would be close to $1 billion.
Whenever a gaming franchise becomes hugely successful, the publisher does not hold back while splurging money on the production of titles that will be a part of it.

The expectations of fans, inflation and several other factors play a part in ensuring that every gaming title in a franchise turns out to be more expensive than the one which was released last.
In the past, one has seen Rockstar being quite generous while allotting developmental budgets for GTA games. However, even if we take the budgets of some of the last released GTA games into account, GTA 6 still comes across as a very expensive game. While GTA 4 was made at a budget of $100 million, the production cost of GTA 5 stood at $256 million.
