Most GTA fans are expecting the much-awaited game to be offered at an affordable price!
For a while, one has been coming across reports suggesting that the pricing of GTA 6 could be much higher than what it expects it to be. A long time ago, some gaming experts came up with theories about how Rockstar Games could sell GTA 6 at a lower price point so that it becomes accessible to a large number of people. However, that is not the direction in which Rockstar Games seems to be moving.
The gaming industry has witnessed some interesting pricing trends over the last year. Many gaming studios have priced their games in a way that they have been out of reach for many gamers. When Nintendo put up a price tag of £75 for Mario Kart World, conversations around the pricing of GTA 6 started again. Many started saying that the game could be priced at $100 or more.

In the past, one has been able to form some idea about GTA 6 based on the statements made by Strauss Zelnick, who serves as the CEO of Rockstar Games. Recently, during an interview, Zelnick stated that the team is “highly focused” and taking all the necessary steps to ensure GTA 6 turns out to be a great experience for all the fans. Zelnick further stated that they have to ensure the experience is memorable for fans as they would have “paid a fair price for it”.
While Zelnick has not made any clear statement about GTA 6’s pricing, the aforementioned statements make one believe that the game will be sold at a ‘fair price’. For a very long time now, one had been hearing rumors about Rockstar opting for premium pricing while selling GTA 6. While that could still happen, Zelnick’s statement makes one believe that Rockstar would be considerate while putting a price tag on the game.
Gamers rejoice! The 80$ price tag might be averted. New interview with Take-Two's CEO from Variety: "We’re highly focused on making sure that the experience is great, not just because the game itself is great, but also because consumers have paid a fair price for it."

Fans, however, continue to remain skeptical. A section of the fans is quite certain that GTA 6, given the hype and hoopla surrounding it, will not be offered at a moderate price. Since the game is scheduled to release in May next year, one does not expect the pre-orders to start anytime soon.

At the moment, there are equal chances of Rockstar going either way with the pricing of GTA 6. If the studio sells the game at a lower price, it could attract a large section of gamers.
However, this could also lead to delays in recovering the amount of money that has gone into developing and putting the game together. If the game is sold at a higher price, the studio will be able to recover the development cost earlier and can use that money to fund some of its other titles.
