As per recent reports, the much-awaited game could be out on GTA 5 release anniversary.
While waiting for Grand Theft Auto 6, fans continue to be hooked to Grand Theft Auto 5. The latter, as everybody knows, has registered its name in the history of gaming as one of the most successful titles of all time.
Launched on 17 September 2013, GTA 5 made an instant impression with its high-end graphics, immersive storytelling and stunning locations. While each of the games released as a part of the GTA franchise had turned out to be hugely popular, one got an inkling that it would surpass all of them in sales. And, that it did.

The humungous success achieved by GTA 5 put additional pressure on Rockstar Games to put together a game that would not only resonate with the fans of the GTA franchise but reach out to even those who had not bothered to play any of the GTA games so far. Since the game was slated to arrive more than a decade after GTA 5 was launched, Rockstar could not afford to go wrong on any front.
While leaks and rumors have been a regular occurrence, Rockstar has shared very little information about GTA 6 in all these years. While this has made fans more curious about the game, it has also increased the frustration of those fans who have been desperately waiting to get some important update on the game.
Now, a new GTA 6 release date leak suggests that GTA 6 could be released on a date that is very important for Rockstar and the fans of the GTA franchise. According to a recent report by a publication, XUruguay, a Spanish online retailer, listed GTA 6 as a PlayStation 5 exclusive with a release date of September 17 attached to it.

While the listing page has been deleted and is believed to be a placeholder by many, fans believe there is a good chance of GTA 6 arriving on this date. On September 17, 2025, GTA 5 will be celebrating its 12th anniversary.
With GTA 5 becoming a global phenomenon, one expects Rockstar to celebrate its anniversary in a big way. By releasing GTA 6 on the same date, Rockstar could make this date even more special. Since Rockstar has already confirmed GTA 6 will be released this year, the game getting a launch on this important date cannot be ruled out.
