Georgio Jankowski has stated that GTA 6 is not going through any delay and will definitely be launched in 2025!
While Rockstar Games confirmed that they would be working on the next iteration of GTA in early 2022, fans had been waiting to get some update on this game much longer than that. GTA 5 was launched in 2013 and generated a lot of popularity with time. It even went on to become one of the highest-selling gaming titles of all time. Despite this, one could not overlook the fact that the game had been in existence for years and fans were keenly looking forward to trying out a new GTA game.
In the last several months, fans came across a plethora of rumors, leaks and unverified information pertaining to the game. In December 2023, Rockstar finally released the first trailer of GTA 6 and gave fans something to cheer about. The trailer, which had a duration of 1 minute and 31 seconds, reaffirmed the fact that Rockstar Games had put in a lot of effort towards developing the game and ensured that it lives up to the mammoth expectations fans have from it.
After the launch of the first trailer, one saw a lot of theories floating around the GTA 6 release date. For a long time, Rockstar remained quiet about this much-awaited title’s release date. Then, it finally confirmed that GTA 6 would be released sometime in the fall of 2025. Though a specific date was not provided by the gaming studio, this confirmation was enough to get the fans feeling excited.

In the past, one has come across several instances wherein a gaming studio confirmed that a game would arrive on a particular date but it got delayed because the development team needed more time to polish it or get the final product ready. Given the huge expectations associated with GTA 6, a section of fans feared that the same could happen with it.
An insider has just stated that one would have to wait for GTA 6 longer than one had expected. The game, as per the insider, would finally get a launch in 2026. Since the gaming community has waited for this game long enough, a further delay was not something they would be okay with. However, if Rockstar is not ready to roll out the game this year, they will have no option but to wait.
As soon as the insider made these claims, the gaming community got extremely worried. Though Rockstar is known for not addressing rumors and maintaining their silence on such matters, a staff member at the gaming studio actually came forward to confirm that these are baseless rumors and that the GTA 6 release would definitely happen this year.

Georgio Jankowski, who works as a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist at Rockstar Games, addressed the gaming community through his LinkedIn profile and wrote, “With 2025 kicking off and shaping up to be one of the most exciting years ahead here at Rockstar, it couldn’t be a better time to have a look at our open positions and consider applying.”
Jankowski shared details of some roles or positions that more people were required to apply for and then, shared a promo image that had “Coming 2025” written over it. While Jankowski’s statements offered relief to some fans, many feel that there is still a possibility of the game suffering from a delay owing to the kind of development work it requires. At the moment, the entire gaming community is hoping that the latter does not happen and the game arrives this year.
