GTA 6: Take-Two Interactive Release Schedule Confirms 2025 Launch

Grand Theft Auto 6 Fans

Rockstar Games seems to have a lot of plans lined up for the final quarter of 2025!

Even after Rockstar Games confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will release in the fall of 2025, many in the gaming community believed the game might get postponed to next year. The reason behind this notion stemmed from the fact that GTA 6 is one of the most expensive games of all time. More often than not, such gaming titles get delayed owing to the extensive development work required to put them together.

GTA fans can seek solace in the fact that no delay is in sight at the moment. While Rockstar is yet to share a second trailer or for that matter, any important update about the game, parent company Take-Two Interactive’s schedule suggests the game is on schedule to release in the fall of 2025.

A while back, Strauss Zelnick, who serves as the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, had discussed the approach of the company pertaining to game announcements. Unlike a few other major gaming studios, Take-Two does not reveal its titles years before they are scheduled to release. Instead, it starts promoting a title just a few weeks or days before its launch date.

Since this is the kind of approach Rockstar takes, one does not expect much information around GTA 6 to be out in the near future. Since Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 will arrive in the fall of 2025, the game will be out sometime between September and November this year. At this point, it would not be wise to expect Rockstar to share any important update about the game.

Now, one has got some more clarity pertaining to the release timeline of GTA 6 thanks to some activity taking place around Mafia: The Old Country. Mafia has been developed by 2K, which happens to be a subsidiary company of Take-Two Interactive. As per a recent Steam leak, Mafia: The Old Country is slated for an August 8 release.

Since the game is schedule to come out shortly before the fall window, it seems Take-Two has opted for a strategy wherein it does not want titles developed by it to compete with each other.

If one takes this scheduling pattern into account, one would feel there is a good possibility of Rockstar using the final months of the year to release GTA 6 and get it ready for some of the important year-end awards like The Game Awards.
