GTA Online: Here’s Why Fans Should Look Forward To Many Updates In 2025

GTA online 2

Apart from being a profitable game for Rockstar Games, GTA Online can play an important role in the marketing of GTA 6!

On 1 October 2013, Rockstar Games launched Grand Theft Auto Online. Apart from offering some incredible graphics, GTA Online gave players the opportunity to explore some interesting story modes, missions and quests. One of the major reasons behind the game being immensely popular even after a decade of being around is the fact that Rockstar has been rolling out updates regularly. With the arrival of fresh content at regular intervals, fans have remained hooked to the game.

At the moment, the entire gaming community is looking forward to the arrival of GTA 6. While Rockstar has stated that the game will be launched in the fall of 2025, a definite release date has not been specified. Since Rockstar’s focus is on GTA 6 at the moment, fans are concerned that once the game comes out, most of the existing games launched by the company, including GTA Online will not receive updates.

If we take certain recent developments into account, then one could assume there is a limited possibility of Rockstar not releasing updates for GTA Online in the future. Recently, Rockstar made an announcement about the Expanded and Enhanced features of GTA 5 Online being a part of the PC version in 2025. Because of this, one believes Rockstar will continue to support GTA Online as strongly as it has till now in the future as well.

Once the Expanded and Enhanced version is added to PC, one can expect several new scopes to be unlocked. Rockstar will also have the chance to offer more things to players who have a GTA+ subscription. Keeping these factors in mind, one can look forward to the gaming studio rolling out updates for GTA Online regularly for the next few years.

Karl Slatoff, who serves as the president of Take-Two Interactive, had mentioned something important in the Earnings Call meetings in February 2023. Slatoff had asserted that Rockstar Games would continue extending its support to GTA Online. In the recent past, one of the most important updates to have been rolled out to GTA Online is the Agents of Sabotage DLC. Soon, one can expect several more exciting updates to be rolled out to the game.

Most of the recent GTA Online updates, as compared to the ones that were launched a while back, appear to be minor or small. However, one has to acknowledge the fact that most of these updates gave fans the opportunity to try out new cars, missions and a plethora of robust gameplay elements. Based on the discussions taking place in online communities, one can assume that fans have been quite happy with these updates.

Those who have been a part of the gaming community for a while would be well aware of the fact that Rockstar Games constantly uses GTA Online as a platform to create awareness around its new projects. As the release date of GTA 6 inches closer, one can expect the gaming studio to resort to a similar approach.

Since GTA 6 happens to be the biggest project helmed by Rockstar till date, one can expect the studio to leverage GTA Online adequately around this time. GTA 6 is scheduled to release towards the latter half of next year. Therefore, one should look forward to updates being released for GTA Online throughout the year.

Despite being a decade-old game, GTA 6 remains hugely profitable for Rockstar. The player base of the game has expanded significantly with time. Since the game continues to make profits for the studio, there is a slim chance of it being ignored or abandoned by the latter.
