Shortly after the leak came to the fore, a large number of fans started dissecting it on online communities.
Since the last few years, one has seen many leaks pertaining to GTA 6 coming to the fore. This time, however, another Rockstar Games title faces the brunt of a leak. The source code for the GTA San Andreas beta build was leaked recently.
In September 2022, an infamous leak resulted in fans getting a glimpse into an early build of GTA 6. This was a big blow to Rockstar as just a few weeks before that, the gaming studio had officially confirmed that the next iteration in the GTA franchise was in the works.

Once the aforementioned leak came to the fore, many fans started reacting to it. A particular X user, who goes by the handle @_OhkitaSohji, posed a question about whether a part of the game’s source code got leaked or the entire thing came out.

Another user, with the handle @Ash_735 responded to this query by stating that only the “executable stuff” has been leaked.
According to Liam (X/@billsyliamgta), the GTA San Andreas beta build source code has been leaked by someone from Grove Street Games. Ben (X/@videotechuk_) further stated that the beta leaks featured traces that make one further believe somebody from Grove Street Games is behind it.
The team at Grove Street Games was the one that was given the charge of developing Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. The game received a lot of negative feedback and that resulted in Rockstar deciding to part ways with the studio.
Since Rockstar Games’ titles have witnessed several leaks in the past, fans have expressed their wish to see the source code for other titles as well. The GTA San Andreas beta build source code leak has been analyzed by several individuals from the gaming community.

According to one user, the leak offers a glimpse into early multiplayer elements along with skateboard mechanics and a ragdoll system. The leak has also highlighted ‘Jimmy Bond’, a code which converts cars into underwater vehicles.
The 2022 GTA 6 leak led to several closely guarded elements by the studio coming to the fore. The studio had to compromise on many things including the GTA 5 source code, GTA 3 files, Bully 2 developmental project and the GTA Liberty City Stories elements. In the past, Rockstar refrained from commenting on most leaks. It remains to be seen whether it offers any comment on this one.
