iPhone 17 Air Leak Indicates a Major Design Change with Camera Placement

iPhone 17 Air

Apple is likely to implement a major design change for its upcoming iPhone 17 lineup, especially the iPhone 17 Air.

This smartphone is said to replace the Plus model offered by the manufacturer in its earlier series. One of the recent leaks reveals a change in the camera setup of the handset when compared to the earlier series.

Central Camera Hump

According to a video on the YouTube channel AppleTrack, the manufacturer will introduce a major change to the camera module. While earlier reports mentioned that the smartphone would have only one camera on the rear panel like the older iPhone 8 or iPhone SE, the new report indicates otherwise.

The latest leaked render shows that the handset will have a two-camera setup on the back panel. The cameras will be positioned in a horizontal layout in the center. This is a major change from the vertical alignment of the camera modules on the side seen so far in the iPhone models to date. Going by earlier reports, the main camera is slated to have a resolution of 48 MP while the front snapper is expected to support a 24 MP resolution.

Camera Changes in Other iPhone 17 Variants

The other iPhone 17 variants are slated to opt for the manufacturer’s traditional camera positioning style. However, the Pro Max will reportedly make changes to its camera setup by opting for a periscope telephoto lens with a resolution of 48 MP. If this is true, the smartphone is likely to contend or be at par with leading Android counterparts in delivering long-range zoom shots.
